Home Skin Care Remedies

At $300-$500 for each treatment of Botox, it might seem like the fountain of youth isn’t cheap.
But reality is that no matter what tax bracket you’re in you can access the powers of age reversal – even in a recession! We put together some of the best kept secrets of remedies for different types of skin so that you can turn back the hands of time from your own home!
Oily Skin
Oily skin is often given a bad reputation for causing acne which results in scars that can last forever. However, oily skin can be very easy to manage if you just know how to use some of the ingredients that are probably already in your pantry.
One remedy that will help absorb excess oil is by mixing 1/2 cup cooked oatmeal, 1 egg white, 1 Tablespoon lemon juice, and 1/2 cup mashed apple into a smooth paste. Apply generously to all oily areas of the face and leave on for 15 minutes.
Another recipe you can try is by mixing one overripe banana, 1 Tablespoon of honey, and a few drops of orange or lemon juice. Apply with a steaming washcloth and keep on face for about 15 minutes for proper absorption of oil.
Dry Skin
Although dry skin doesn’t cause you as much grief when you’re a teenager, skin that’s dry is more prone to wrinkles and age spots than oily skin.
Not to fear though, there are plenty of concoctions that you can brew up in your very own kitchen to try to add that moisture that your skin just doesn’t seem to produce on its own.
For example, slices of raw potato placed on the eyelids are said to reduce wrinkling. You can also use boiled mashed potatoes all over the skin to add moisture and reduce fine lines—just make sure the mashed potatoes are cooled first!
You can also use mashed potatoes to soften and whiten the skin on your hands and feet. Potatoes are an excellent source of minerals, which are good for the skin.
Another fridge staple that can ease your skin woes is buttermilk. Not only can it make any pancake batter better, but the tangy milk can also add healthy moisture to your skin.
Just dab a washcloth in a warm bowl of buttermilk and apply wherever you need to soften your skin.
Expert Remedies
If you don’t exactly trust your abilities to whip up your own skin care, but you still don’t want to break the bank, you can always try a wrinkle cream made by experts.
Rather than using just ingredients that you would find in breakfast foods, wrinkle creams like Veralyze can provide peptides and collagen stimulation that will give you the results of expensive procedures without the price or risk.
